The reverse shows crowned ornate shield of Royal arms, representing King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg. A very fine example of this 240 year old coin.

1654  1833 (Nov 25) entire letter addressed to 'To the Lord Bishop of Norwich/Norwich' re-addressed to Hereford St. London, superb red (Crown) free datestamp, on reverse markings of Bungay and Norwich. The letter is from Frances Sarah Barlee and is a dispute over ownership/use of a pew in her Parish Church. Frances was estranged from her husband Charles with whom she had numerous disputes and future conflicts. She was imprisoned in Ipswich Gaol for refusing to return to her husband. A fascinating window into the past.
