2614171  1846 (Nov 9) printed 'On the Service of The Customs/Collector' entire letter used London to Adelaide, fine crowned Paid datestamp in red (25MY25/1846) and arrival datestamp in black showing only the day and month slugs '9NO6' (appears to be poorly printed FREE handstamp). One of three known examples. Attractive.

2615397  1849 (May 3) outer from Warnambool to Portland, marked "Registered", rated "11d" in red, showing scarce framed 'MISSENT TO/[POR]T FAIRY' and, on reverse, crown oval NSW datestamps of Port Fairy & Portland (poor). [Postage was based on distance and for the 65 miles concerned it should have been 8d, so 3d overpaid. Although "Warnambool" is endorsed on the reverse and the sender has a Warrnambool address it is possible the letter was carried to Melbourne and posted there, in which case 11d would be the correct rate.] Ex Ray Kelly, Max Watson, Brian Peace.

2588492  1849 Entire written Dec 10 to the Royal KK Justice Office in Agram (previous name for Zagreb) from Commanding General of the Austria Army of Occupation in Croatia and postmarked open 2-line 'WIEN/19.DEC' at right, plus d/ring arrival 'AGRAM/21/DEC' cds. Numbered within and on the outside 'A10826' (file number of some sort?), ornate embossed shield seal (red wax traces).
