COCOS (KEELING) ISLANDS - Military - World War II Period

980  Royal Air Force PO 301 1945 (Nov 3) usage of formular air letter with a very fine strike of the 'RAFPOST 301' datestamp, the letter headed "Section B/RAF Station Cocos", The writer states 'The sun still shines on the Cocos Islands" and "the climate here is the best to be found in the Far East" & "Mail is still uncertain...", some mild spotting. [On completion of airstrip in March 1945, RAF squadrons '99' & '356' were relocated from the India-Burma region to Cocos, mail was serviced by RAF Post 301 datestamp]
