AUSTRALIA Kangaroos - First Watermark

158  ½d Green with range of colonial issues (total 10½d) on registered 15/1/13 cover from Howard Davis, South Melbourne to France. This is the 2nd earliest recorded cover for the ½d. Only one cover is known cancelled 14/1/13 from Melbourne, another cover is recorded for 16/1/13. This stamp isn't known used in Sydney until 20/1/13.

671  1905 (7 Aug) re-use of 1d Postal Card previously CTO 'MELBOURNE FE 22 01' (from Federal presentation set) franked with ½d Bantam pair cancelled by Cranbourne cds, addressed to Sydney dealer TH Nicolle. The card is used by Rev HW Lane whose opinion of the CTO cards was somewhat less than that of modern-day collectors!
