AUSTRALIA - First Flight Covers

902  1968 Heathrow Crash (Apr) aerogramme to Australia salvaged from BOAC Boeing 707 G-ARWE which left Heathrow London on Apr 8 en route to Zurich but shortly after take-off the pilot reported engine on fire, subsequently falling off, with the aircraft burning a forced-landing was attempted and the ensuing crash claimed five lives and 22 injuries. Plus letter from Mail Exchange Branch, Adelaide explaining how the aerogramme was damaged. Nice pair. (2)
