2611346  1939 (May) cover Melbourne to Germany paying airmail to Italy with 3d blue x3 & 2d red (paying 11d postcard rate). Fine boxed 'RETURNED [FOR] ADDITIONAL POSTAGE/SHORT-PAID "1/4D"/POSTAL DEPARTMENT/COM'LTH OF AUSTRALIA' on face. The under-payment was 10d, so we are not sure why the charge of 1/4d (16d) was applied. The 1/4d stamp has been removed. Plus three air covers to Europe in the 1948-51 period. (4)
