2614542 PS Head Quarters Defence Force: 1894 unusually large postcard (162x119mm) for the Tasmanian Rifle Regiment with printed instructions in preparation for forming the Guard of Honour at the Opening of the Hobart Exhibition on 15/11/1894, very fine 'HD QR DEF.FORCE' Frank handstamp in black & fine Hobart duplex of NO12/94, minor soiling & light vertical fold. The only example we have seen.

His card states that he won a medal at the Melbourne InterColonial Exhibition (in Class 5, Group 1 Section 16a; verified in the Official Record). Accompanied by an original albumen print of the Melbourne Public Library (attributed to Nicholas Caire) and a real photo postcard of the same building, which was originally erected for the 1866-67 Intercolonial Exhibition. Also a photocopy of the floor plan of the exhibition. (3 items)
