1053  1848 (Jun 1) entire from Bon Accord Mine, Burra to Sydney, rated "6/-"!!, no SA postal markings, poor Melbourne Ship Letter transit of JU*10/1848 and Sydney arrival of JU*19/1848, endorsed loose letter and per Juno. The letter reports on prospecting in the area. [The Bon Accord Mine closed the following year and did not re-open until 1858.]

1111  1855 (Jan 19) cover (stained at base) and letter from Melbourne to England with 3-margins 1/- Octagonal, rated "6" in black. The letter is from a policeman stationed at Keilor and was written only about 1 month after the troopers attacked the Eureka Stockade. It comments on the bad state of Melbourne & the Diggings and how the diggers refered to the police as Butchers after the attack.

1429  1943 (June 29) cover from Ariston Gold Mines to Erstfeld, Switzerland with 1/6d airmail rate franking tied by Prestea datestamps, censored in Lagos (Nigeria) and by the Wehrmacht in Paris, Type II 'OAT' cachet in violet (rare thus) applied in London, cover with some age staining. A scarce example of a private letter passing from Allied to German postal system to reach a neutral country. The probable route fully described in vendor's typed annotations.
