2614542 PS Head Quarters Defence Force: 1894 unusually large postcard (162x119mm) for the Tasmanian Rifle Regiment with printed instructions in preparation for forming the Guard of Honour at the Opening of the Hobart Exhibition on 15/11/1894, very fine 'HD QR DEF.FORCE' Frank handstamp in black & fine Hobart duplex of NO12/94, minor soiling & light vertical fold. The only example we have seen.

Ex Trevor Davis [The Exhibition closed 31 April 1881 but usage of of Exhibition stationery continued for at least some months. Stieg & Watson at page 23 state that postage was not required on overseas mail except to countries that were members of the General Postal Union (later the Universal Postal Union). Italy was an original signatory to the GPU, hence the Italian PDues.]
