1290  1948 (Dec 4) complete linen parcel piece (280x175mm) with peripheral stitching fragments indicative of having been stitched to a parcel, addressed to Sydney with 6d BCOF block of 4 tied by 'AUST ARMY PO/241 datestamps, APO 241 registration handstamp in violet, completed Defence Force Customs label affixed and tied by 'DUTY FREE' handstamp in violet. An impressive and important postal history item. [The 2/- franking comprised 1/9d for parcel weighing between 8 & 10 pounds, plus 3d registration]
