2587258  1940 (Sep 9) from GB by air, envelope inscribed 'VIA TRANSATLANTIC AMERICA' franked 4/6d by KGVI 4d, 10d x2, and 2/6d brown SG #468, 474 & 476. Sender Lieut N.M. Cahill, AIF, UK, who signed the env on front (his own censor?), addressed to (presumably) his parents in St Kilda, Victoria. Nice example of this routing.
Lot 838:1940 (Sep 9) from GB by air, envelope inscribed 'VIA TRANSATLANTIC AMERICA' franked 4/6d by KGVI 4d, 10d x2, and 2/6d brown SG #468, 474 & 476. Sender Lieut N.M. Cahill, AIF, UK, who signed the env on front (his own censor?), addressed to (presumably) his parents in St Kilda, Victoria. Nice example of this routing.

2588715  Greece (Apr 16) use of lightly stained ACF envelope inscribed 'Air Mail' addressed Pierre Gorman, Caulfield, Victoria (a Gorman signature appears alongside triangular censor handstamp - family correspondence?). 9d Platypus tied 'RAILHEAD/16AP41/R.M.1' cds. Roughly opened, damaged flap, rare. [Australian Forces began evacuation eight days later, on April 24]
