 1956 Melbourne Olympics postcards with stamps tied by various Olympic Village cancels APM 1151-55, all signed by track & field competitors including gold medallists Betty Cuthbert (Australia, Women's 100 & 200 metres & 100m relay), Charles Jenkins (USA, Men's 400m & 400m relay), Glenn Davis (USA, Men's 400m hurdles), Charles Dumas (USA, Men's high jump), Bob Richards (USA, Men's pole vault), Vladimir Kuts (Russia, Men's 5,000m & 10,000m), Alain Mimoun (France, Men's marathon), Adhemar da Silva (Brazil, Men's triple jump); also silver medallist Gordon Pirie (GB, Men's 5,000m) plus three other items signed by Russian competitors; also another card signed by legendary olympian Emile Zatopek who sustained an injury in preparing for the Melbourne Olympics marathon and was only able to finish sixth.
