Plus similar outer (somewhat toned) which accompanied a consignment of 5 bales of wool and 12 tubs of butter, and a third similar item, a bit tatty, of about the same vintage. (3)

1094  1870-73 DLR Wmk 1st V/Crown 2d mauve (worn plates) P12, SG #170a with the prominent variety Scarred face - Large diagonal scratch though Queen's head on AP22/73 cover with fine Kyneton - 57 duplex cancel. Only 2nd example recorded on cover and the first as P12 and the earliest recorded date.

Genuine postally used examples are extremely rare, with very few recorded. Grossly undercatalogued at Cat £800. [Ex Freeman, illustrated at page 92 of 'The Barred Numerals of Victoria']
