1228 | ✉ | | 1819 (Jan 6) lengthy entire from London to John Drummond Esquire, Naval Officer (the customs official) at the Derwent, Van Diemans-land, from his brother requesting that he return home, Rated "1/9" in red. Received 28th June. A very early inwards letter. [John Drummond had been deemed unfit to return to his duties after being arrested for the murder of his sister-in-law's child, which he had fathered. He was not convicted and returned home to England in 1820.]
