1426  1945 (Jun 21) airmail cover to Holland with KGVI 6d Pictorial paying airmail fee to UK, endorsed with very fine strike of boxed 'PREPAID FOR AIR TRANSIT/TO GREAT BRITAIN ONLY', censored in Gibraltar, Type V 'OAT' cachet in red applied in London. Probable route fully described in vendor's typed annotations.

1427  1964 (Jul 20) surface cover to St Helena with QEII 6d Pictorial tied by Gibraltar datestamp, routed to UK by ship, Type XIX 'OAT/FS' cachet in violet applied in error in London (there was no airmail service to St Helena) subsequently scored through in blue pencil, minor spotting. The only OAT cover we have seen where the cachet has been deleted as an airmail service did not exist.
Lot 1427:1964 (Jul 20) surface cover to St Helena with QEII 6d Pictorial tied by Gibraltar datestamp, routed to UK by ship, Type XIX 'OAT/FS' cachet in violet applied in error in London (there was no airmail service to St Helena) subsequently scored through in blue pencil, minor spotting. The only OAT cover we have seen where the cachet has been deleted as an airmail service did not exist.

1429  1943 (June 29) cover from Ariston Gold Mines to Erstfeld, Switzerland with 1/6d airmail rate franking tied by Prestea datestamps, censored in Lagos (Nigeria) and by the Wehrmacht in Paris, Type II 'OAT' cachet in violet (rare thus) applied in London, cover with some age staining. A scarce example of a private letter passing from Allied to German postal system to reach a neutral country. The probable route fully described in vendor's typed annotations.
